Cllr Aoife Thornton

I grew up in a small village called Lixnaw which is in North Kerry, the village of Lixnaw has a vibrant and strong community spirit and I am a very proud Lixnaw woman. Lixnaw also has a fantastic hurling club, both my brothers have played with this club for many years and with such committed members of the community driving the club today it is sure to continue. By trade I am a solicitor, I have advocated on behalf of the public and as a mediator I have facilitated the negotiation of solutions where possible over the last number of years. Married with my first child, I have worked for Pierse Fitzgibbon Solicitors based on Market Street in Listowel for almost ten years. My areas of expertise are Family Law, Employment Law, Company Law and Agricultural Law. I also have experience in education having worked as a secondary and primary school teacher along with tutoring in Mental Health for the Law Society of Ireland.
