Ballybunion Golf Club
“Twelve greens had been laid out upon the links – a number which might be easily increased to the standard eighteen, should the members so wish. The greens all lie along the sand-hills. The turf is of the springiest and the course offers every variety of golfing interest.”
This was how Ballybunion Golf Club was described during the Golf Committee's very first meeting on the 18th of August 1893. Today, Ballybunion Links – described by Tom Watson as the best in the world - is home to two world-class links courses. On a beautiful stretch of sand dunes overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, you will be spoilt for choice between two wonderfully challenging golf links - the Old Course and the Trent Jones Cashen Course.
The Old Course exudes a majestic feel, with its beautifully contoured fairways that tumble down through a blanket of grassy dunes, it's no wonder these challenging holes have been consistently rated among the world's finest. The Trent Jones Cashen Course, located along the sweeping, undisturbed shoreline, offers breath-taking views throughout. Long grass covers the dunes that pitch and roll throughout.
