Ballybunion's boxing club is the Cashen Vale Amateur Boxing Club. Established in 1996, it's a vibrant and active club that is managed and supervised to the highest standards. The club has permanent facilities at the Ballybunion Community Centre, which is a great benefit not only for the club itself but also visiting clubs.
Over the years, Cashen Vale boxing club members have won awards at both National and International level. The Club has hosted several Tournaments, including County and Munster Championships. In 2004 the Club hosted the Four-Nation Cadets Championships, in 2005 the Irish Multi-Nations Senior Tournament, and in 2008 Ireland versus Russia (Seniors).
Club management is in the hands of a dedicated group of people who have a lifetime association and involvement with sport and especially boxing for the young people of North Kerry. In 2009 the Cashen Vale Boxing Club was the recipient of an Award in the Physical activity category at the Kerry Community Awards Banquet in Killarney. In 2010, the club won 4 National Titles, which is a record for a club in Kerry for that year.
